Converting Conversion to Judaism through the London Beth Din

If you are interested in convertingConversion to Judaism, this should be done under Orthodox auspices, is overseenwhich in the UK is overseen by the London Beth Din (LBD).

The process is thorough and meaningful, reflecting the seriousness and a lifelong commitment involved in joining the Jewish people.

Becoming Jewish means a change that permeates any aspect of life, whether private, social or communal. Life as you know it will change completely and there’s no turning back.

It typically includes a period of structured study, regular attendance at Synagogue, living an observant Jewish lifestyle, and integrating into a supportive community.

Candidates are guided by a rabbi and a hosting family, appointed by the LBD and are expected to demonstrate sincerity, consistency, and readiness to accept mitzvot (Lit. Biblical commandments).

If you are interested in converting to Judaism, we recommend that – as the first step -you contact the London Beth Din (=“Rabbinic Court of Justice”) www.bethdin.org.uk/conversion directly or for an informal conversation, please contact rabbi Menasche Scharf rabbi@finsburyparksynagogue.org.uk.
